Nearly three years after my last travel diary post on Spain, here are a few photos I took during my 6 months stay in Zwolle, The Netherlands! (Pics taken: August 2022 to January 2023)

Some info: Situated 80 km to the north of Amsterdam, Zwolle is a middle-sized city of 130 thousand inhabitants, and is the capital of the Overijssel province.

Bikes. Everywhere. You better love bikes.Up ahead is Van der Velde Boeken, an old church changed into a bookstore! A magical place for any book lovers (there even is an entire floor dedicated to books in English!) Very nice to have a coffee at, although it often gets crowded.Zwolle’s Dominican MonasterySassenpoort, gate built in 1406, with 2 towers and historical exhibitions on the city on all floors, beautiful medieval architecture.Grote Kerk, facing the city-centre plaza, where a market is held every weekend (Grote Markt), perfect to buy some fresh vegetables or regional cheese!
Food
Here are some good places to eat!
Salute is the best place for ice cream. Talamini goes second place in my book.The hazelnut chocolate and fruits ones aaaaaMmtea is THE place in town for bubble tea! Their warm taro is the best!Got some limited-time Starbucks. Around Halloween, tried both the warm and cold pumpkin spice ones! (warm>)These were the Christmas specials.Monster Sushi Zwolle, awesome all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ place! Their Japanese curry OMG!!!THE Japanese currySet of sushi, fried shrimps, kimchi, beans, dumplings, etc.Sweet potato friesPornstar martiniHome-made iced teaOliebollen, typical Dutch winter pastry. These were apple and banana-filled, got them at the Grote Markt!These too are typically eaten around Christmas.These were greatGot some kürtőskalács at a Hungarian stand in the Grote Markt (only there on Fridays, I believe). Great stuff!Cool to see the way kebab is served over thereSushiiiiTotally random, but got some BK in Luxemburg after going through Belgium.

I’ll be honest, I’ve got no idea where these pics belong.
One of the most disturbing statues I’ve seen so far.Was blessed with a gym I could go to daily as it was open 24/7 (I wish it was a thing where I live now).Train ride around Amsterdam, countryside covered in snow.Sloterdijk’s “Rainbow Road” as I like to call it hahaBack there to take my bus a few months later.
